Blackface Chronicles

American pop star Katy Perry has removed two designs from her Katy Perry Collections shoe line after complaints that they resembled blackface. The decision to drop them came after the products were heavily criticised by social media users.

Как у меня теперь водится, узнал из журнала Dezeen о неожиданном ответвлении скандала с blackface. (О начале скандала узнал у Арбата, о продолжении – в комментах у Молли).

Fashion house Gucci has discontinued a jumper accused of resembling blackface and apologised (sic) for any offence (sic) caused.

The balaclava jumper, which is part of the Italian brand’s Autumn Winter 2018 collection, features a black polo neck with a cutout mouth and exaggerated red lips.

Теперь, если понадобится, можно спокойно обвинять в расизме любого, кто когда-либо носил любое изделие дома Гуччи.
