Ну что, началось в полный рост?

Я, честно говоря, не верил, что хуйло и впрямь вторжение готовит. До примерно того момента, когда они устроили эвакуацию; тут уж вариантов не осталось.

Vox с прискорбием сообщает, что дело, которое шьют Трампу в нью-йоркской прокуратуре, продвигается хреново и вообще близко к развалу. Мол, оно перешло по наследству к новому манхеттенскому главпрокурору Брэггу (который прославился немедленными инструкциями перестать преследовать преступников практически за всё), и вот этот Брэгг, далеко не консерватор, выразил такое мнение об этом деле, что два ведущих прокурора уволились. Как пишет Вокс, "did Bragg legitimately conclude that the case against Trump, which he inherited from former district attorney Cyrus Vance, was weak? Or did he get cold feet about taking on the powerful former president?"

Испугался могущественного Трампа, ага. Сдается мне, их первая гипотеза куда ближе к истине: дело просто настолько яйца выеденного не стоит, что даже прогрессивный Брэгг решил с ним в суд, даже манхеттенский, не ходить.

Приношу свои извинения всем, кому внезапно пришлось читать мои посты двадцатилетней давности. Это я затеял импортировать ЖЖ в WordPress, а там у меня в свое время было выставлено отзеркаливание в ЖЖ и в Дрим. Этот забытый древний механизм неожиданно сработал, и получилась перекачка постов по кругу. Импорт в результате тоже поломался – возникли какие-то проблемы с аутентификацией в ЖЖ. Теперь вот сижу и думаю, что с этим делать.

Всех, в общем, поздравляю с днем советской армии.

Invasion

Оказалось, все-таки вторжение. Пока, во всяком случае.

MOSCOW (AP) — The White House on Tuesday began referring to Russian troop deployments in eastern Ukraine as an “invasion” after initially hesitating to use the term — a red line that President Joe Biden has said would result in the U.S. levying severe sanctions against Moscow.

Several European leaders said earlier in the day that Russian troops have moved into rebel-held areas in eastern Ukraine after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recognized their independence — but some indicated it was not yet the long-feared, full-fledged invasion.

Later, the White House signaled a shift in its own position.

“We think this is, yes, the beginning of an invasion, Russia’s latest invasion into Ukraine,” said Jon Finer, principal deputy national security adviser. “An invasion is an invasion and that is what is underway.”

Democrats overwhelmingly favored Trudeau’s response with 65% approval to 17% disapproval. Republican responses were weighted even more heavily against Trudeau, however, with 87% of likely GOP voters disapproving to just 8% approving. Respondents who said they did not belong to either one of the two main parties cut against Trudeau’s crackdown with 74% disapproving versus 21% approving.

Aside from Democrats, the only other demographic areas identified in the poll that cut in Trudeau’s favor are the ages 65 and older category and among blacks and Hispanics. Every other demographic – men, women, Asian, white, younger age groups – disapproved of Trudeau’s handling of the protesters.

The largest difference in approval versus disapproval took place among 25 to 34-year-olds. In that age group, 100% of respondents disapproved of Trudeau’s tactics.

Трампофобы, особенно те, которые озабочены Украиной, сейчас должны демонстрировать (сами себе в основном) чудеса ментальной гимнастики олимпийского уровня. Не повывихивали бы себе чего; им не привыкать, впрочем.

Вообще должен сказать: такой интенсивный пиздец происходит кругом, даже комментировать не хочется. В диапазоне от хуйла до внезапного фашизма в Канаде, of all places. Позитивных новостей как-то вообще не вижу.

UPD: ответ на вопрос получен, некий анонимный официал из администрации ответил. Поскольку российские войска все это время в Донбассе уже были, это вообще не incursion.

Особенно мне понравилось то место, где провинции отменяют ограничения по плану, потому что наука, а тракеры тут вовсе и ни при чем. У нас тут, в общем, то же самое: ограничения отменяются, потому что science has changed, причем тут выборы? Не мешает даже то, что далеко не все демократы заметили эти научные перемены. А что поделаешь, очень уж быстро наука меняется.

Кстати, знает ли кто, почему опять перестала работать трансляция из Дрима, и можно ли что-нибудь с этим сделать?

A Modest Proposal 2022

Прочел в Daily Wire:

A leftist California politico who serves as co-president of the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy mocked Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s statements on abortion by stating the concept of “equity” demands parents give up their children to the state.

Заинтересовался, разумеется: очень уж залихватское предложение. Прочел текст по ссылке. Оказалось, человек выступил в духе Свифта, причем для малограмотных в тексте присутствует ярко светящийся указатель: "my proposal is quite modest". А в конце еще и "brave new world" упомянут, чтоб уж совсем было понятно.

Помимо наезда на Барретт и на правых, которые "отбирают детей у иммигрантов и сажают их в концлагеря на границе", там есть и наезд на левых, а весь текст в первую очередь воспринимается как ядовитая сатира на концепцию "equity".

Daily Wire, короче, село в лужу. Меньше надо этой серьезности, что ли. С другой стороны, причины для такой рефлекторной реакции тоже есть – от недавних разговоров про то, что не хрен родителям вмешиваться в школьные дела до давнего знаменитого выступления Мелиссы Харрис-Перри.

BOSTON (CBS) – COVID sniffing police K-9s will be in some Massachusetts schools this week. The one-year-old labs with the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office have been trained to detect COVID-19.

On Wednesday, Huntah and Duke will go to work in Freetown, Lakeville and Norton school districts.

“With COVID, whether it’s the Omicron, whether it’s the Delta, our dogs will hit on it,” said Bristol County Capt. Paul Douglas. “And if there’s a new variant that comes out in six months, hopefully there isn’t, but if there is one, COVID is COVID.”

If one of the dogs smells COVID on a desk, keyboard or trash barrel, they will sit down, alerting staff that the area has been exposed to the virus and needs to be cleaned.

Я было подумал, что это вроде диабетических собак, которые реагируют на изменение уровня сахара в крови у хозяина, но тут вроде речь про вынюхивание Ковида на поверхностях, с последующим указанием, где дезинфицировать. Интересно, собаки только на Ковид реагируют, или на любые коронавирусы? Или, ~~как PCR-тесты~~, и на грипп заодно? Что-то мне сомнительна эта затея, даром что "scientists there say the dogs are 99% accurate in detecting COVID."

Главное ж, поди проверь, действительно там Ковид по столу размазан или собачка дурака валяет.
