Увидал среди десятков ему подобных такой заголовок: It’s looking more and more like there is a coordinated GOP effort to discredit the Trump-Russia investigation
Мне кажется, этот заголовок только частично отражает реальность. Полная картина выглядит примерно как "It’s looking more and more like there is a coordinated Democrats’ effort to discredit the coordinated GOP effort to discredit the coordinated Democrats’ effort to discredit the President".

Интересно, чем закончится дело Нассара, которому вчера выписали еще полторы сотни лет сроку, для федерации гимнастики и для Мичиганского университета. В Пенсильвании, помнится, после истории с Сандуски несколько человек из верхушки университетской администрации попали под суд и в тюрьму, не говоря о менее радикальных административных мерах, а ведь Нассар, если верить описаниям, помасштабнее Сандуски получается, на суде больше сотни жертв фигурировало. Президент MSU уже ушла в отставку, но это, надо полагать, только начало.
Еще интересно, не будет ли каких легальных последствий у поведения судьи, которая в процессе и при вынесении приговора наговорила много лишнего, чего судьи себе обычно не позволяют. Многие пишут, что это может оказаться серьезным аргументом в пользу Нассара при апелляции; на мой взгляд, вряд ли. Такое дело в нынешней атмосфере может на апелляции закончиться разве что тем, что ему еще лет семьдесят добавят. В прессе судье в основном аплодируют, что слева, что справа, редкое единодушие в наши дни.
Про атмосферу, кстати: Man wants sex-trafficking trial delayed, says he can’t get impartial jury amid #MeToo movement. Конкретно этот орел, сдается мне, не найдет непредвзятого жюри нигде и никогда, но то, что его адвокаты выкатили такую формулировку, атмосферу как бы характеризует.

Панорамное
Пока я держу свои фотографии на своем же хостинге и обрабатываю их по старинке мышкою в Фотошопе, прогресс не стоит на месте. Сегодня я узнал, что на Google Photos есть AI, который распознает фотографии, снятые рядом, и склеивает из них панорамы самостоятельно. Иногда, правда, упускает из виду некоторые детали.
Хорошо, кстати, склеивает.

Рекомендует им держаться, потому что Трамп долго не протянет: мол, серьезные люди в истэблишменте и разведке Трампом недовольны, так что дни его сочтены, а потом будет нормальный демократический президент, может быть даже и он сам, и все опять будет в порядке, как при Обаме.
During the conversation, according to the report, Kerry asked Agha to convey a message to Abbas and ask him to "hold on and be strong." Tell him, he told Agha, "that he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time, that he will not break and will not yield to President Trump’s demands." According to Kerry, Trump will not remain in office for a long time. It was reported that within a year there was a good chance that Trump would not be in the White House.
Kerry offered his help to the Palestinians in an effort to advance the peace process and recommended that Abbas present his own peace plan. "Maybe it is time for the Palestinians to define their peace principles and present a positive plan," Kerry suggested. He promised to use all his contacts and all his abilities to get support for such a plan. He asked Abbas, through Agha, not to attack the US or the Trump administration, but to concentrate on personal attacks on Trump himself, whom Kerry says is solely and directly responsible for the situation.
According to the report, referring to the president, Kerry used derogatory terms and even worse. Kerry offered to help create an alternative peace initiative and promised to help garner international support, among others, of Europeans, Arab states and the international community. Kerry hinted that many in the American establishment, as well as in American intelligence, are dissatisfied with Trump’s performance and the way he leads America. He surprised his interlocutor by saying he was seriously considering running for president in 2020.
Там же пишут, Керри вроде в друзьях с Нетанияху и вообще "a consistent supporter of Israel for decades". Сейчас, после того, как он четыре года отработал госсекретарем у Обамы, это звучит довольно странно. А что там было до того, я просто не помню. В свете приведенного вчера графика, впрочем, ничего удивительного.

Из жизни акул
То есть что происходит: появляются сведения (в интервью с порнозвездой) о том, что Трамп не любит акул. И что он даже вроде бы выразил пожелание, чтоб они все сдохли, акулы эти. Эффект – просвещенная публика бросается жертвовать на акул деньги. Чтоб они нам были здоровы, значит, раз Трамп их не любит. От имени Трампа причем жертвуют, чтоб ему обиднее было.

Conspiracy Theories
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters believe a special prosecutor should be named to investigate whether senior FBI officials handled the investigation of Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump in a legal and unbiased fashion. Thirty-one percent (31%) disagree, but a sizable 19% are not sure.
Sixty-two percent (62%) of Republicans are calling for an outside prosecutor to investigate the FBI, as is a plurality (49%) of voters not affiliated with either major political party. Among Democrats, 38% favor a special prosecutor; 40% are opposed, but 22% are undecided.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) says that a whistleblower has told Congress about secret meetings between FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials who allegedly gathered to discuss ways to undermine President Trump following his victory in the 2016 election.
Johnson’s comments come after House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said that two FBI agents accused of anti-Trump bias made reference in text messages to a “secret society” within the FBI and DOJ in the aftermath of Trump’s election.
Я про все эти дела старательно не писал, потому что черт же знает, что там на самом деле происходит, но ведь смешно же до невозможности. Secret society! Опять, небось, Dumbledore’s Army. Да еще свистун какой-то якобы обнаружился, свидетель заговорщицких тайных встреч, который про эти встречи рассказал Конгрессу – и это прямо после того, как в DoJ так удачно потеряли переписку заговорщиков как раз за нужные полгода. Никакого кино не надо.
