Avva насмешил слегка. Мол, Трамп наехал на NFL и его избиратель сразу NFL разлюбил. Иллюстрация к явлению "трампизма".

Интересно, как у всей этой публики, вне зависимости от интеллектуальных возможностей, не укладывается в голове одна простая вещь: Трамп не причина, а следствие. Они уверены, что электорат Трампа – это бессмысленное стадо, которое думает так, как Трамп скажет; на самом же деле Трамп знает, что его электорат думает, и соответствующим образом выступает, вот и весь "трампизм" до копейки. Собственно, он так и выборы выиграл, а эти интеллектуалы все никак не сообразят, что происходит.

Увидал первую статью про реанимированный скандал в “серьезном издании”. Содержание понятное: не на что тут смотреть, проходите, не задерживайтесь. Никаких доказательств нет, Клинтон ни про что не знала, все в порядке, это просто Брейтбарт и Ханнити отвлекают внимание от Настоящих Проблем. Упоминаний про миллионы, переведенные интересантами в фонд Клинтонов, нету до самого последнего раздела, который объясняет нам, что нету никакой разницы между этими миллионами и платой иностранцев за номер в трамповском отеле.

Все как и следовало ожидать, в общем.

Поди ж ты; а я думал, эту историю замяли навсегда. Гарантий, однако, никаких; мало ли что творится там под ковром.

Интересно, откуда вдруг такая активность. Я бы предположил, что демократы со своим Резистансом пересекли некую невидимую черту, и кто-то в Вашингтоне решил пересмотреть действовавшие прежде всякие неписаные правила вроде прощения грехов предыдущей администрации.

In case you missed it, women are flooding social media this week to share our stories of sexual assault and harassment, using the hashtag #MeToo to “give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.” Though this should be obvious, in this moment it bears repeating: gender-based violence does not exist without other systems of violence, especially those built to uphold white supremacy (such as racism, colonialism, zionism, militarism).

Удивительно, какие вещи представляются людям очевидными. Я бы вот про связь сексуальных домогательств с сионизмом в жизни бы не догадался. Или про то, что сионизм создан с целью поддержки white supremacy. А у них это само собой разумеется и доказательств не требует, надо только повторять почаще, чтобы остальные не забывали.

Russian Influence

Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.

They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.

Rather than bring immediate charges in 2010, however, the Department of Justice (DOJ) continued investigating the matter for nearly four more years, essentially leaving the American public and Congress in the dark about Russian nuclear corruption on U.S. soil during a period when the Obama administration made two major decisions benefitting Putin’s commercial nuclear ambitions.

История известная; отчего бы это The Hill про нее вспомнил сейчас? Впрочем, деталей про ФБР и Департамент Юстиции вроде раньше не было.

As The Times aggressively covers the Trump administration, Baquet said he wants it to be clear to the public that the paper’s motivation is "journalistically sound" and not part of "a vendetta" against the president. “I can’t do that if I have 100 people working for the New York Times sending inappropriate tweets,” he said. Baquet said the Times is “going to come up with a tougher policy.”

Не поздновато ли спохватились? То есть начальство в NYT решило придушить своих журналистов в Твиттере, чтобы NYT выглядел непредвзятым. Как они это себе представляют, интересно, после того, что все эти журналисты в том Твиттере УЖЕ наговорили? Нужный эффект может быть достигнут только заменой всех тамошних журналистов одновременно с запретом на чириканье. И редакторов, кстати. Да и то потом понадобится немало усилий, чтобы брэнд отчистить немножко. А этого, понятно, не будет никогда.

Based on a report from FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education), Stanley Kurtz provides what he calls a “man bites dog” story: the shout-down of California Attorney General, Xavier Becerra and California State Assembly Leader Ian Calderon — both liberals – by Pro-Trump, MAGA hat-wearing protesters. This occurred at Whittier College, alma mater of Richard Nixon, where Becerra was trying to explain his decision to sue the Trump administration for phasing out the DACA program.

The disruptors, who apparently were not students, shouted slogans like: “Build that wall,” “lock him up,” “respect our president,” and “American first.” Becerra’s question and answer session with Calderon was severely disturbed and cut short as a result.
