U.S. federal immigration agents arrested hundreds of undocumented immigrants in at least four states this week in what officials on Friday called routine enforcement actions.
Паника, разумеется.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is requesting a meeting with U.S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement (ICE) officials over recent raids on undocumented immigrants.
Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-N.M.), who chairs the caucus, sent a letter to ICE asking for “an open and candid discussion” on the enforcement changes, saying the raids “have struck fear in the hearts of the immigrant community.”
“It is critical that we meet with you in person immediately to discuss the impact these raids have had on our communities as well as obtain clarifying guidance on how ICE policies will differ from the last Administration,” the letter reads.
Отличие, по всей видимости, будет незамысловатое: при предыдущей администрации закон демонстративно не исполнялся, а эта администрация нацелилась его исполнять. Как и обещала. Чистый фашизм. Палачи, разумеется, отмазываются: мол, рутинная операция, мы и раньше такое делали, планировалось все до трамповых указов и вообще еще при Обаме. Никто им, понятно, не верит.
Сгущалось, в общем. Сейчас, наверно, про мусульман забудут: это вам не визу отменить живому человеку. Тут есть о чем поговорить и что показать. Протесты сейчас начнутся, демонстрации под мексиканскими флагами, требования немедленно прекратить исполнять закон и так далее. Сожгут, наверно, что-нибудь для убедительности.
