While there is little question that the Trump team is set to unravel our democracy, our foreign relations and every stitch of political progress our nation has ever made; that isn’t all that is at stake here.

In our efforts to make sense of all this we have often turned to George Orwell’s “1984.” While the dystopian novel has a lot of insight to offer, it can’t actually capture the cognitive effects of Trumpism. And that’s because the Trump team is not just brainwashing us or numbing our brains with Newspeak. It is actually implementing, consciously or not, a complex five-point strategy poised to make our minds shut down.

Просто для представления о том, какой кромешный пиздец происходит сейчас в тех либеральных мозгах, которые команда Трампа, по мнению автора, пытается отключить, бессознательно (идиоты же) реализуя для этого сложную пятикомпонентную стратегию, ггг. Там, кстати, есть перечисление описаний этого состояния, собранного автором по фейсбучным друзьям:

Никакая стратегия, на мой взгляд, для нарушения либеральных когнитивных способностей не понадобилась: весь этот cognitive damage у них как приключился ночью с восьмого на девятое ноября прошлого года, так и продолжается по сей день, и конца этому не видно. Захотеть to make these minds shut down можно разве что из милосердия, чтобы не мучились так, бедолаги. Но читать их попытки самим себе объяснить весь тот беспросветный ужас, который они сами себе устроили, бывает очень занимательно.

“It’s just a nightmare,” said Drake, who practices in West L.A.

Doherty wrote that Trump’s campaign was creating widespread alienation and fear among Americans. Trump was normalizing behavior that therapists fight to reverse, including “the tendency to blame others in our lives for our personal fears and insecurities,” he said, and “a kind of hyper-masculinity that is antithetical to the examined life and healthy relationships.”

These issues haven’t gone away now that Trump is president, Doherty said. He formed a group last month called Citizen Therapists for Democracy to consider issues raised by Trump’s presidency.

Ну все, конец. Люди – кто порусскоязычнее, я имею в виду, – увидели знакомую формулировку. Теперь Трамп не только гитлер и путин, но еще и сталин, сейчас начнет журналистов расстреливать.

Кстати, за последние несколько дней видел полдюжины статей, где Трампа называли “un-American”. В рамках той же образной системы это получается что – “антисоветчик”? Или “отщепенец”? То есть у авторов-то, понятно, просто МакКарти в подкорке всплыл, но если у тех же русскоязычных спросить? Вообще, глядя на то, как это добро в обе стороны летает, иногда просто ржешь как ненормальный.

Народ еще подергивается после вчерашней гомерической пресс-конференции, а АР уже докладывает, что администрация Трампа рассматривает возможность использовать до ста тысяч национальных гвардейцев для того, чтобы отлавливать и депортировать нелегалов. Источник информации – краденый черновик мемо (draft memo obtained by The Associated Press), предположительно написанного генералом Келли, министром госбезопасности (Homeland Security Secretary). Степень подлинности этого якобы черновика никому не известна, уровень истерики демократов известен заранее очень хорошо. Белый дом, естественно, категорически отрицает.

И так КАЖДЫЙ ДЕНЬ.

UPD: в DHS утверждают, что черновик их, но генерал Келли его не писал. Это, говорят, один из ранних вариантов подхода к проблеме, который всерьез не рассматривался.

A DHS official told The Daily Beast that the memo the AP cited was an early, pre-decisional draft, that Kelly never approved it, and that the department as a whole never seriously considered it.

И выборов, чтобы проверить, кто из них врет занимается пропагандой ошибается, в ближайшее время не предвидится. Так что можно выбирать по вкусу, очень удобно. Нюанс – у Гэллапа в сэмпле adults, а у Расмуссена – likely voters.

Есть и еще опросы, но те ведут себя поскромнее. Разница не плюс десять или минус четырнадцать, а плюс один или минус три.
