Единственным поставщиком политических текстов у меня в ленте (кроме Арбата) остался, похоже, Dezeen – по той причине, что среди архитекторов и дизайнеров навалом ебанутых либералов, а Dezeen их идеи радостно рекламирует.

Неожиданно: Rapid-onset Gender Dysphoria

Трансгендерство вошло-таки в моду: набралось уже достаточно случаев, когда ребенок (в отличие от нормальных, так сказать, трансгендеров это в основном девочки, около 80%), никаких транс-склонностей никогда не демонстрировавший, уезжает в университет и там с ней внезапно приключается гендерная дисфория. Или в школе. Университеты и школы по нынешним временам такие вещи с энтузиазмом поддерживают, многие университетские страховки безропотно платят за гормоны-хирургию, и ребенок приезжает домой после второго семестра с двойной мастэктомией и усами во все лицо.
There were 256 parent-completed surveys that met study criteria. The adolescent and young adult (AYA) children described were predominantly female sex at birth (82.8%) with a mean age of 16.4 years. Forty-one percent of the AYAs had expressed a non-heterosexual sexual orientation before identifying as transgender. Many (62.5%) of the AYAs had been diagnosed with at least one mental health disorder or neurodevelopmental disability prior to the onset of their gender dysphoria (range of the number of pre-existing diagnoses 0–7). In 36.8% of the friendship groups described, the majority of the members became transgender-identified. The most likely outcomes were that AYA mental well-being and parent-child relationships became worse since AYAs “came out”. AYAs expressed a range of behaviors that included: expressing distrust of non-transgender people (22.7%); stopping spending time with non-transgender friends (25.0%); trying to isolate themselves from their families (49.4%), and only trusting information about gender dysphoria from transgender sources (46.6%).

I spoke with 18 parents, 14 of them mothers—all articulate, intellectual, educated and feminist. They burst with pride in daughters who, until the ROGD spell hit, were highly accomplished, usually bound for top universities. Except for two mothers whose daughters have desisted, all insisted on anonymity. They are terrified their daughters will discover the depth of their dissent and cut them off. They are determined to use whatever influence they have left to halt their daughters’ next voluntary disfigurement.

Nearly every force in society is aligned against these parents: Churches scramble to rewrite their liturgies for greater “inclusiveness.” Therapists and psychiatrists undermine parental authority with immediate affirmation of teens’ self-diagnoses. Campus counselors happily refer students to clinics that dispense hormones on the first visit. Laws against “conversion therapy,” which purports to cure homosexuality, are on the books in 14 states and the District of Columbia. These statutes also prohibit “efforts to change a patient’s . . . gender identity,” in the words of the New Jersey law—effectively threatening counselors who might otherwise dissuade teens from proceeding with hormone treatment or surgery.

Birdwatcher замечает, что основные факторы риска – "быть студенткой, иметь медицинскую страховку". Действительно, университет должен быть правильный, с хорошей медицинской страховкой. Но из текстов можно понять, что существенный фактор риска – наличие прогрессивных убеждений и прогрессивных семей типа "articulate, intellectual, educated and feminist" (Семьи, впрочем, после персонального опыта с таким делом прогрессивность несколько теряют).

Дарвинизм в действии, в общем.

А вот научные возражения (thx to vsvor): ‘Rapid-onset gender dysphoria’ is a poisonous lie used to discredit trans people. Возражения сводятся к тому, что, во-первых, исследование про ROGD никуда не годится, потому что опубликовано в журнале, который "reviews only the technical aspects of the papers published, rather than the interpretation of the results", а во-вторых, это родители просто не замечали, что дочери у них трансы с раннего детства. Так что нету никакого ROGD, руки прочь от гражданских прав трансов.

На мой взгляд, кстати, тоже нету никакого ROGD, в смысле, как синдрома или еще какого заболевания. Это просто идиотская мода, введенная идиотами. Вроде татуировок, только гораздо хуже. Не медицинская проблема, а социальная.

Лапоть про дело Кавано: почти две недели назад был опубликован меморандум Senate Judiciary Committee, где цитируются, в частности, разные свидетели. Bottom line получается незамысловатый и вполне ожидаемый – это все была наглая клевета.

Обсуждений меморандума в прессе не наблюдается. Во-первых, выборы как раз происходили, во-вторых, народу не нужны нездоровые сенсации. Осадочек остался, и хорошо. Потом еще фильм снимут про героическую обвинительницу.

Дилемма

EXTON, Pennsylvania (AP) — For many voters in America’s affluent suburbs, a flourishing economy is forcing a thorny dilemma for the midterm elections.

Do they vote Democratic, in part to protest President Donald Trump for behavior some see as divisive and unpresidential? Or do they back Republicans in hopes that the economy will continue thriving under the majority party?

Бедненькие, блядь. Какой тяжелый выбор.

Выход, впрочем, есть. Надо себя уговорить, что экономика на самом деле ни хрена не процветает, или процветает, но при Обаме было лучше, или процветает, но не для тех, для кого надо, и вуаля – дилеммы как не бывало, можно голосовать "orange man bad" с легким сердцем.

Any strategy for enhancing the security of American Jewry should involve shunning Trump’s Jewish enablers. Their money should be refused, their presence in synagogues not welcome. They have placed their community in danger.
Иоффе, кстати, гнет свое, периодически слегка извиняясь.

Опять не знаю, зачем я все это читаю и про это пишу. Эти люди вызывают у меня глубокое отвращение; на чтение этого говна у меня вообще-то времени нет, полно других дел; чертова аддикция. Надо что-то с этим делать, а что?

Trump enjoys a kind and degree of immunity that few if any politicians in my lifetime have been given.

But we’ve served this stew so many times before that a big audience beyond the die-hards has lost its appetite. We need to document all or most of the tweets and bleats — he’s the president of the most powerful nation on earth, after all — but there’s so much that we invariably come across as obsessed. Trump puts us in a trap.

The way out isn’t clear, but a few necessary adjustments are. We in the media should do less “horseface” and more ballooning deficits, dysfunctional federal agencies, disgraceful cabinet members and reckless judicial appointments. Too often the substantial sinks beneath the saucier stuff, yet another factor that favors the president and lets him off the hook.

Trap indeed. Они ведь если начнут по делу писать вместо того, что они сейчас пишут, получится еще хуже. Для них, я имею в виду. Они, впрочем, опять не смогут. Это ведь не первая такая статья временно пришедшего в чувство журналиста на тему "что же это мы делаем", эффекта никакого, что делали, то и дальше делают, причем включая авторов таких статей.
