Ну что, сказал Обама речь. Никого не впечатлил, разве только особенно восторженных товарищей слева. Товарищи справа, ясное дело, презирают. Неожиданностей и впрямь не оказалось – как и обещано, Обама предложил еще один стимулус. Не на триста миллиардов, и не на четыреста, а на четыреста пятьдесят. Причем сказал, что за все уплочено, не беспокойтесь. Наврал, разумеется. И очень откровенно реализовал давно обсуждавшуюся затею: мол, или принимайте закон немедленно, или будете виноваты во всей безработице и прочих проблемах. Ничего у него из этого не выйдет, никто из тех, кого он уже потерял, в этот заезд не поверит.

His speaking style has deteriorated since taking office. He’s phonier than in 2008, reading with forced emphasis. At times he achieved the rare, magical combination of seeming desperate and condescending at the same time.
President Obama’s jobs speech was one of the weaker addresses of his presidency. The delivery was rushed, the laundry list of policies were rehashed from prior speeches and his constant refrain emploring Congress to “pass this jobs bill” made him come across like a salesman on a TV infomercial.
