The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a statement Friday evening disavowing a days-old tweet from the National Weather Service that contradicted President Trump over the reach of Hurricane Dorian.

The NOAA statement, which was unsigned and posted to the agency’s website on Friday, said that the "Birmingham National Weather Service’s Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time."

"From Wednesday, August 28, through Monday, September 2, the information provided by NOAA and the National Hurricane Center to President Trump and the wider public demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama," the NOAA statement reads.

Прелестная история из жизни our moral betters. Барак и Мишель Обама, как известно, занимаются теперь продюсированием шедевров для Нетфликса. Для этой цели они создали компанию под (что уже забавно) названием Higher Ground Productions, и попытались зарегистрировать соответствующий trademark. Но им не дали, потому что уже существует компания Higher Ground Enterprises, чей трейдмарк зарегистрирован среди прочего в той же области – entertainment services. С 2008-го года.

Так вот Обамы решили, что у них ground намного higher, и теперь судятся, чтобы у той компании, которая путается у них под ногами, трейдмарк отобрали. А то ишь.

"The Obamas have known for almost a year that their Higher Ground trademark application was rejected by the USPTO because it infringed my client’s rights," says Zerner. "Instead, of simply picking another name, the Obamas’ lawyers have now filed a meritless petition to cancel my client’s trademark so they can take it for themselves. This is really deplorable behavior. I hope that the Obamas realize that these actions are not consistent with the values they preach and that they instruct their attorneys to immediately dismiss the petition."

Obama’s team declined to comment.

Дальше, естественно, он предлагает собственный рецепт борьбы с Оранжевым Злом. Рецепт такой: Трамп, мол, все свои непристойности и неприличности устраивает для того, чтобы подчеркнуть свою общность с обычным американцем, и чтобы контрастом выделить те темы, где он серьезен и приличен – вроде величия Америки. Так вот надо объяснить обычному американцу, что настоящая неприличность – это как раз величие Америки. И действительно, что может быть непристойнее? Тут-то обычный американец и осознает, что голосовать надо за левых либералов.

Отличная идея, вот что значит настоящий интеллектуал.
