Послабление вышло

The Biden administration on Tuesday backed down on a controversial proposal to direct the IRS to collect additional data on every bank account that sees more than $600 in annual transactions, after widespread criticism from Republican lawmakers and banking industry representatives, who said the tax enforcement strategy represented a breach of privacy by the federal government.

Instead, the administration and Senate Democrats are proposing to raise the threshold to accounts with more than $10,000 in annual transactions, and any income received through a paycheck from which federal taxes are automatically deducted will not be subject to the reporting.

Забавно, я поначалу думал, что речь идет об отслеживании разовых трансакций. А оказывается, там про annual transactions! То есть они хотели отслеживать все счета, на которых ЗА ГОД было прихода (не по W2) на сумму в шесть сотен долларов – миллиардеров, значит, ловить, которые от налогов уклоняются, ага. А когда поднялся крик, умерили свои аппетиты до так и быть десяти тысяч. На мой взгляд, разницы просто никакой, что так фашизм, что этак.

Nonpartisan American

Попал по ссылке в Твиттер Бреннана, обамовского директора ЦРУ. Он, оказывается, характеризует себя в Твиттере следующим образом: "nonpartisan American who is very concerned about our collective future."

Рядом с его твитами это выглядит гомерически смешно. Хотелось бы надеяться, что его возьмут все-таки за задницу и попросят ответить за его предвыбрные подвиги, совместные с Клаппером, Коми и прочими nonpartisan Americans, но не получается – не возьмут, кишка тонка.

Круто, по-моему. Война спецслужб против законно избранного президента переходит в открытую фазу. Впрочем, эти намеки с самого начала были слышны. Я уж не помню деталей, кто это рассказывал еще год назад, что спецслужбы справятся с Трампом одной левой? Не то Кейн, не то Шумер, забыл уже, а мы ведь, кажется, даже и здесь про это говорили.

Из Washington Post узнал, что попытка слегка упростить процедуру увольнения федеральных служащих – это атака на их гражданские права.

 
About the only thing President Trump had to say about the federal workforce during his State of the Union address was his call to fire feds faster.

The one time he mentioned “federal employees” was to push his plan to empower agencies “to remove federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people.”

To do that, he wants officials to engage in the same attack on civil service due process rights as the law now allows at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

У них, оказывается, есть due process rights при увольнении. У студентов, которых обвиняют в изнасиловании, таких прав нету, а у этих есть. Начальство должно собрать и представить доказательства, что служащий не справляется со своими обязанностями, и эти доказательства должны удовлетворять определенным требованиям, а речь идет о том, чтобы этот уровень снизить до "substantial evidence", ужас-то какой.

Авторы жалобной статьи, как это теперь водится, совершенно не задумываются, как это выглядит со стороны, для большинства населения, которое трудится в качестве employees at will. "Да, мы охуели, и что?"

Что касается превентивно-знаменитого меморандума, больше всего мне интересно вот что: демократы хитроумно накаляют атмосферу, чтобы мемо показалось на созданном фоне пустышкой, или в полном соответствии с бритвой Хенлона готовят себе эффект Стрейзанд? Посмотрим. Предварительные результаты этой возни выглядят примерно так:

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has ruled in favor of President Trump in his effort to appoint the acting head of nation’s top financial watchdog agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Не получилось на этот раз. Nice try though: сделать федеральную бюрократию неподотчетной вообще никому – отличная идея. Будут по агентствам сидеть себе все эти либералы, ковать нужные регуляции и интерпретировать законы как надо, не обращая больше внимания на президента или там Конгресс. А то мало ли кого туда избирают всякие deplorables.

Ну, в следующий раз демократы закон пропишут поподробнее, когда будут в большинстве.

Во всей этой дури с Россией дело дошло до закономерного вопроса: если все было так страшно и очевидно, куда смотрела предыдущая администрация? Предыдущая администрация через своих друзей в спецслужбах, прессе и прочих нужных местах заверяет нас, что все было под контролем.

Предыдущая администрация все видела, знала, и приняла надлежащие меры! Просто она их приняла таким особенным образом, что ответственность за решение лежит на Трампе, ггг. Решение должно ему даться особенно легко теперь, когда друзья предыдущей администрации в спецслужбах слили это дело друзьям предыдущей администрации в прессе – даже вне зависимости от того, правда это или все эти друзья, как обычно, все это придумали.

Хроники трампомахии

Прочитав очередной bombshell от Washington Post, с отвращением подумал, что я это кино уже видел: как раньше Коми страховался тем, что анонимно сливал слухи про расследование против Трампа, так теперь и Мюллер страхуется тем же самым. Авось на этот раз Трамп побоится меры принимать, после истории с Коми. Интересно, сколько раз нам еще это кино смотреть, и на которой итерации Трампа все-таки сожрут. Кстати, про разы: это, если не ошибаюсь, в первый раз американский президент вступил в открытую конфронтацию с силовиками. Гувера все президенты боялись, с прочими шпионами тоже вроде никто не ссорился, похоже, Трамп тут первый? Хотя Никсона ж тоже ФБР скинуло, когда он после Гувера не того человека директором назначил.
